Ranchhand

The Maintenance/Ranch hand Worker is responsible for providing maintenance support and upkeep to the building and property at Red Road Recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain and upkeep centre in good working order
  2. Change light bulbs, fix toilets, washer/dryer, door handles, clean drain spouts, clean out gutters.
  3. Use truck and water tank to fill up cistern in lower parking lot
  4. Take garbage and recycle to bins @ bottom of driveway
  5. All exterior maintenance
  6. Drive residents to appointments; doctors, eye exams, banks etc.
  7. Transport residents and staff using side-by-side 
  8. Arrange Firewood delivery and stack firewood
  9. Transport Firewood for sweats
  10. Monitor, maintain, and refill propane tanks
  11. Oil change on company lawn equipment such as lawn mower, weed whacker and snow blower.
  12. Arrange maintenance on company vehicles including but not limited to oil changes, tire changes, and regular maintenance
  13. Keep fuel topped up in vehicles and jerry cans for equipment
  14. Assemble shelving kits, shed kits, furniture, and other items as required.
  15. Loading and unloading Canadian Springs drinking water jugs
  16. Fire Control including cleaning up brush
  17. Softscape landscaping – maintaining a clean and presentable look of the centre and property.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Winter Responsibilities:
Take solar lights in from the driveway.
Plow and salt driveway
Shovel walkways
Clear snow that falls from roof (front and back)
Clear snow from deck and exits
Summer Responsibilities:
Mow Lawn
Weed Whack
Plant and water gardens/planters
Rake Leaves
Trim bushes and trees along driveway and around house

 
Key Responsibilities for Ranch Hand:

 
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a maintenance role.
  • Mechanical knowledge
  • General handyman knowledge
  • Must be able to work independently and efficiently
  • Must be able to carry 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand/walk for long hours
  • Ability to take direction and have good communication with supervisors
  • Must be able to read and understand instructions, manuals and plans
  • Must have a valid drivers license and must be confident in operating machinery and driving (ex: side-by-side, truck, van, ride on lawn mower)
